Packers' Micah Parsons sets his own return date from torn ACL recovery image

Micah Parsons tore his ACL on Sunday, a devastating blow to the Green Bay Packers.

On Monday, he set his own return date.

Parsons posted this on X on Monday afternoon:

That'd be on the front end of any ACL recovery.

The most recent comparable is Stefon Diggs, who took just less than nine months to be fully cleared from his torn ACL last year with the Texans to his return to training camp over the summer.

Nine months from Parsons' injury would take him to Monday night of Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season.

Parsons used a picture of a lion, but the NFL hasn't released the order of games yet, so it's unlikely that Parsons is saying that he'll be back specifically to take on the Detroit Lions. Or if he knows the schedule better than the public, it's not something we can base information of off yet.

But a September return at some point would be the best the Packers can hope for. They'd likely bring him back at least a little slowly in game action, but the nice thing about a pass rusher is that it's pretty simple to do that. You just put him in the game on passing downs and key spots, at least for a few weeks.

Parsons will still only be 27 years old when he returns. Still plenty of time for him to build a great Green Bay legacy.
