One of the biggest storylines about the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys this weekend will be Micah Parsons returning to Jerry World for the first time since being traded. Parsons played for the Cowboys for the first four seasons of his NFL career before being traded to Green Bay.
There is no doubt that there is potential revenge on his mind for this game. The Packers are 2-1 and the Cowboys are 1-2 this season. They have one of the best defenses in the NFL and could potentially make life difficult for quarterback Dak Prescott this weekend. This game is going to kick off at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.
Green Bay Packers Micah Parsons Reveals What He Feels When Returning to Dallas This Weekend
The Packers defensive star spoke to Matt Schneidman of the Athletic about what to expect this weekend against his former team. Parsons said,
"Just knowing me, once the game starts, who’s going to be worried about any trade? It’s just me against them five men in front of me, and then we’ve got one common goal, and that’s to win the football game. How we win the football game is winning the line of scrimmage and affecting (Cowboys quarterback) Dak (Prescott) and how good he’s been playing this year. I think the fans, the media’s going to get off on the (pregame) hype and all that, but once the game (starts), ain’t no one talking about the trade. We’re talking about winning the football game."
He is correct about this because the Cowboys offensive line is going to want to make him a non-factor in the game. What Parsons wants to do is completely disrupt the offense. If he winds up having two to three sacks in the game, it is going to be intriguing to see the fans reactions in this one.
It is also possible that Parsons will get a video tribute before the game after spending the last four seasons with the Cowboys. If he has a big game against Dallas, owner Jerry Jones will have many questions to answer to the media about the trade after the game. Green Bay's top defensive player is not worried about what happened in the past. He's worried about helping out his team get another win.
