Packers made a nonsense call on biggest play of game vs. Eagles image

The Green Bay Packers needed a yard.

It was fourth-and-1, game on the line, pivotal drive against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.

The Packers had successfully converted a QB sneak earlier in the game. They also have a powerful running back in Josh Jacobs.

And then Green Bay came out in shotgun. And they ran out of that.

It didn't work.

Jacobs was stuffed, and he actually fumbled.

An illegal formation flag was thrown, so a first down wouldn't have counted, but the Packers would've gotten another chance if they forced the Eagles to accept the penalty.

Instead, Green Bay's odd play call may have lost them the game.

The Eagles proceeded to make an even weirder play call on fourth down and give the Packers one last chance.

What an odd football game.
