Packers' Josh Jacobs reveals worst-case scenario in new injury update image

The Green Bay Packers may be without their star running back this week.

Josh Jacobs is dealing with a knee injury.

But the news could be a lot worse. On Thursday, Jacobs revealed the worst-case scenario for his time off, and it's not that bad at all.

"Worst case if I don't play this week, Thursday I'm definitely playing," Jacobs said, via ESPN's Rob Demovsky. "It's not like something that'll linger over past that. That's really the worst-case scenario, yeah."

The Packers' schedule has the quick turnaround lined up.

First, they play Sunday in Week 12 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Then, it's Thanksgiving in the first game of Thursday against the Detroit Lions.

Based on Jacobs' comments, he plans to suit up on Thanksgiving no matter whether or not he plays on Sunday.

Jacobs was hurt this past Sunday against the New York Giants. He told reporters the injury occurred on the second play, but then he stayed in for 10 more snaps before exiting.

This week, Jacobs missed Wednesday's practice and returned in a limited capacity on Thursday.

"Really now today it's already 50%, probably 60% of the swelling is gone," Jacobs said Thursday about his knee. "It's just about getting the range of motion back."

The Packers would turn to Emmanuel Wilson as the starting RB if Jacobs sits. He'd be backed up by Chris Brooks.

Sunday begins a stretch of three consecutive NFC North games for Green Bay, so they'd sure love to have their roster as close to healthy as possible.
