The Green Bay Packers have once again utilized running back Josh Jacobs as their lead back this season.
Jacobs' production is down from last season, but he has also missed multiple games. Jacobs has been scoring plenty of touchdowns, though, with the veteran rusher tallying 13, which is just two shy of his career-high.
However, the Packers running back is off to a slow start in the Week 17 game against the Baltimore Ravens. Here's what's going on.
Is Josh Jacobs playing tonight?
UPDATE: Three quarters in and Jacobs is stuck on four carries for three yards and one catch for zero yards. The Packers have only run the ball 11 times and making matters worse, Jacobs is consistently rotating with Wilson and Brooks.
Sadly, there isn't any hope things will get better for the star running back.
END OF UPDATE
UPDATE: Jacobs had three touches for one yard on the Packers' first drive of the second half. He gained one yard on two carries and caught one pass but slipped and barely got back to the line of scrimmage. Just a nightmare showing for Jacobs.
UPDATE: We're through an entire half of football and Jacobs has just two carries for one yard and has not been targeted in the passing game.
Jacobs has been a victim of circumstance, as the Packers haven't run a ton of plays and are utilizing a rotation at running back that also includes Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks.
END OF UPDATE
UPDATE: You simply cannot make this up. Not only was Jacobs not on the field for the Packers' third offensive series of the game, the Packers also turned the ball over after just two plays. Jacobs and the Packers are on the road to disaster on Thursday night.
Jacobs hasn't had many opportunities to produce over two drives, as the Packers' first series was just two long passing plays and he got stuffed on a pair of carries on drive No. 2.
The Ravens have also dominated time of possession, while the Packers have barely had the football.
Here's to hoping Jacobs gets going soon.
