Is Jayden Reed playing today? Latest injury update on Packers WR ahead of Week 1 image

The status of Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed is up in the air heading into the Week 1 game against the Detroit Lions.

Reed was listed on the Packers' injury report with a foot issue but was able to close out the week with two limited practices after not taking part on Wednesday. He is officially listed as questionable for Week 1.

The problem for Reed is that he's trying to play through a Jones fracture and the risk of aggravating the issue will be extremely high all season long for an injury that typically requires surgery to fix.

Despite that, Reed said he doesn't expect to miss time this season.

“I mean, I’m working through it,” Reed said last month. “I didn’t feel 100 percent today, but it felt great to be out there, I’ll tell you that… What I’ve got going on, there’s not much I can do. But I’m going to manage it and get rest and treat it.”

While that's all well and good, will we see Reed suit up in Week 1? Here's the latest injury update.

Is Jayden Reed playing today?

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Reed is expected to suit up for the Packers on Sunday against the Lions.

"Packers WR Jayden Reed, dealing with a foot injury and questionable, is expected to play today, source said. Some good initial news for GB," Rapoport reported.

As far as his workload is concerned, it remains to be seen if Reed will see a full complement of snaps after not practicing much during the week.

Luckily, the Packers have options, with guys like Matthew Golden, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks and Savion Williams also being on the roster, although Williams and Wicks are both questionable, also.
