The Detroit Lions will have to navigate at least one more game without both of their starting cornerbacks, as both Terrion Arnold and D.J. Reed are out for the Week 7 contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night.

Reed was put on injured reserve after the Week 4 win over the Cleveland Browns due to a hamstring injury. As for Arnold, he hasn't suited up since Week 5 after he injured his shoulder.

It goes without saying that the Lions need their starting cornerbacks to return as soon as possible, and that was never more apparent than in Week 6, when Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes diced up the secondary.

Here's what we know about the estimated return dates for Arnold and Reed.

When is Terrion Arnold coming back?

Arnold was able to log a limited session on Friday, which as his first practice since his injury, so that's a positive sign for his chances of suiting up after the Week 8 bye.

Head coach Dan Campbell offered more optimism after saying he believes Arnold could return after the bye, according to Jeremy Reisman of Pride of Detroit.

“I think they’re both probably (returning) after the bye,” Campbell said of both Arnold and Avonte Maddox, who is also dealing with an injury.

So, Week 9 appears to be a possibility for Arnold's return.

When is D.J. Reed coming back?

Counting the Week 7 game against the Buccaneers, Reed has missed three games and we know that players on injured reserve have to miss a minimum of four.

So, that means he'll be required to miss one more contest after the bye, since bye weeks do not count toward the four-game minimum. That places Reed's earliest possible return date at Week 10 against the Washington Commanders.

That said, there hasn't been any indication that Reed will be back when first eligible, so that's something to keep in mind.
