The Detroit Lions haven't had the services of safety Kerby Joseph since Week 6.

That's because Joseph has been battling a knee injury that has kept him sidelined.

Here's what we know about Joseph's injury and when he might be back.

What happened to Kerby Joseph?

Joseph is still trying to work his way back from a knee issue that has bothered him since the offseason.

Joseph's injury got worse after he sustained a bone bruise in Week 4.

During the week, Joseph revealed that his knee isn't likely to get back to 100% this season, and surgery down the road isn't likely to fix it, either, so he could be dealing with this knee issue for the rest of his career.

"My knee messed up," Joseph said, per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. "You don’t fix it. You just keep the faith."

"Can’t be worried, I trust in God’s plan," Joseph added.

"I don’t think it’s necessarily going away, but I think you do the best you can to manage it," Lions head coach Campbell said. "It’s like a lot of these guys that have gotten some injuries here or deals with could be cartilage or meniscus or anything like that, it’s you do your best to manage it and there’ll always be a little wear and tear and it’s just how bad is it?"

The good news is, Joseph returned to practice this week before being ruled out, so the hope is he will be back in Week 15 or 16.
