The split hasn't been even.
The Detroit Lions have leaned more on Jahmyr Gibbs in the backfield this season than ever before. And that has meant that veteran RB David Montgomery has been forced to watch more often than he's used to.
A week ago, for example, Montgomery had just seven carries for 32 yards.
There have still been big games for Monty, who is the Knuckles to Gibbs' Sonic in their tandem nickname. But it hasn't been the same.
It makes it a tough situation for fantasy football players, for sure, with the playoffs here and there not being as much evidence that Montgomery is trustworthy.
This week, Lions head coach Dan Campbell did imply he wouldn't mind getting Montgomery more action.
"It's something I think about a lot is how do we get them all involved," Campbell told reporters, via ESPN. "He's one of those, when they're all involved, we're just better. We're a better offense."

Gibbs is exceptional, and needs just one touchdown to break Barry Sanders' all-time NFL record for most TDs scored by a player in his first three seasons.
Montgomery does allow the Lions to keep Gibbs fresh, and it can work in reverse, too.
Monty's workload hasn't been the same, which could allow him to have a little extra burst late in the season here, if the Lions decide to unleash him again.
