When it comes to offensive lines, the Detroit Lions and Cincinnati Bengals are on opposite sides of the spectrum.
The Lions have routinely had an elite group upfront for multiple years in a row now, and despite having two new starters in 2025 (and three if you count Graham Glasgow moving over to center), Detroit's offensive line looks top-notch yet again.
On the other hand, the Bengals are perennial failures at protecting quarterback Joe Burrow, as evidenced by Burrow's multiple serious injuries and sacks taken totals over the years.
Despite the two teams being on the opposite sides of the spectrum, Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox thinks both the Lions and Bengals could be players for Las Vegas Raiders offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson if he gets traded.
A conditional fourth-round pick that can become a third-rounder based on playing time would probably be more valuable to the Raiders than the role they currently have for Powers-Johnson.
Potential Suitors: Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions
Powers-Johnson was drafted in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft and showed a ton of promise as a rookie after playing snaps at both guard and center.
Powers-Johnson gave up just two sacks and 23 pressures in 956 snaps. He finished with Pro Football Focus grades of 68.3 in pass-blocking and 70.4 in run-blocking, marks that are strong for a rookie.
JPJ figured to be the Raiders' starter at center in 2025, but the team decided to put Jordan Meredith there instead. That left Powers-Johnson in a battle for right guard against Alex Cappa, who was terrible last season and had no business vying for a starting role.
Powers-Johnson did end up winning the job and started in Week 1, but it was Cappa who started in Week 3 after Powers-Johnson returned from a concussion that sidelined him in Week 2.
Even after Cappa was bad on Sunday, the Raiders continue to force Powers-Johnson into a competition with Cappa, which is just downright puzzling.
Seeing as how they seemingly don't have much faith in Powers-Johnson, it's plausible Las Vegas could trade him, although that would be foolish.
It's true the Lions don't need Powers-Johnson right now, but they might need him in 2026 if the team decides to move on from Glasgow. With JPJ, the Lions could deploy him at guard or center.
For the Bengals, JPJ would be an immediate starter at guard, where he would give Cincinnati a sizeable upgrade. The Bengals should be knocking down the Raiders' door if Powers-Johnson becomes available.
Knox estimates that Powers-Johnson would cost a conditional 2026 fourth-round pick.
For a promising 22-year-old offensive linemen who is under contract for two more years beyond 2025 and has already proven to be a good starter, paying that price would be a no-brainer.
