Huge Sam LaPorta season confirmed after Lions TE changes appearance image

Mark Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta down for a huge 2025 season.

The Lions tight end exploded onto the scene during his rookie campaign in 2023 but took a step back with his 2024 production after tallying 724 yards and seven touchdowns.

Not a bad season by any means, but we know the Iowa product is capable of more after his historic first season in the NFL.

And fans now believe more than ever that LaPorta is going to have a career-best year in 2025 after a photo of him rocking a mustache went viral on social media.

"Sam LaPorta grew out his mustache," one fan wrote. "The league is absolutely COOKED."

It has been quite the offseason for LaPorta. On top of the stache, the Lions tight end got married in June and even met the Pope.

Another fan believes all of that will propel him to huge numbers.

"Mustache, married, and blessed by the Pope? 1,200 yards and 13 TDs," the fan said.

Of course, it's possible LaPorta sheds the caterpillar over his top lip before the start of the season, but that would be a huge mistake.
