The Detroit Lions have navigated their first few drives of the Week 2 game against the Chicago Bears and running back David Montgomery has yet to get a touch.
Montgomery had a disappointing Week 1 performance, totaling just 23 rushing yards on 11 carries. That said, the entire Lions offense had a down showing versus Green Bay's elite defense.
Even still, it was a good sign that Montgomery led the team in carries, even though he took a big back seat to Jahmyr Gibbs in snaps.
All that said, Montgomery is off to a quiet start in Week 2. Here's what we know.
Is David Montgomery playing today?
Yes, Montgomery is active and in the lineup, the Lions have just given Gibbs all the snaps and looks thus far. Montgomery might have gotten a look on the team's second drive, but the Lions didn't have the ball for long.
We should see more of Montgomery soon.
