If head coach Dan Campbell could pick one Detroit Lions franchise great to put on the 2025 team, who would it be?

We found out what his pick would be recently when NFL insider Jordan Schultz asked Campbell that exact question during an episode of "The Schultz Report."

While Calvin Johnson and Barry Sanders are the easy answers, the Lions don't have a big need at either position, with Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery at running back and Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams at wide receiver.

As a result, that makes this an interesting discussion that could have an answer that isn't Sanders or Johnson. Even still, Campbell chose Megatron:

"It's like, of course you take Barry, right? But that's three backs. I don't know if I have a three-back package just yet. But you'd want all three of them on the field," Campbell said.

"You know what? I'll take Megatron back," Campbell added. "You know, we can definitely use four receivers. I mean, that's not a problem."

A trio of Johnson, St. Brown and Williams would no doubt be fun to watch and an absolute nightmare for opposing defenses, but if we were going strictly off need, give us defensive end Robert Porcher.

Edge rusher remains the biggest concern for the Lions entering 2025. Detroit is badly lacking depth, which is especially troubling because the starter opposite Aidan Hutchinson, Marcus Davenport, is injury-prone.

A three-time Pro Bowler, Porcher never played in fewer than 14 games in any season. He also tallied 10 or more sacks five times en route to being the most prolific pass-rusher in franchise history.

A duo of Hutchinson and Porcher in his prime would be one of the best one-two punches in the NFL and would instantly upgrade Detroit's Super Bowl chances.
