The Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions got into a major scuffle following the Week 6 game on Monday night.

The fight started when Lions safety Brian Branch delivered an open-handed punch to Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster when the two teams were meeting on the field following Kansas City's 30-17 win.

Before that, Branch refused to acknowledge Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes for a post-game handshake, but it isn't clear if that's what led to tempers flaring.

Here's a look at the video.

Based on this video, it would appear that Smith-Schuster was jawing at Branch as the game concluded and Branch didn't take kindly to that, which led to him throwing the punch at Smith-Schuster.

Here's a closer shot of Branch hitting Smith-Schuster.

With Branch initiating the contact, he is definitely going to be facing a fine, which is nothing new for Branch, who has already been hit with multiple monetary punishments this season.

It remains to be seen if Smith-Schuster will get a fine for retaliating, but it's certainly possible.

Branch's frustration was likely just a microcosm of what the Lions were feeling on Sunday night.

The Chiefs completely outclassed the Lions in what was a convincing win for the reigning AFC champions.

Now, the Lions will look to grab a win in Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ahead of their Week 8 bye.

The Chiefs will host the Las Vegas Raiders next week.
