The Detroit Lions are hoping to have wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown active for the Week 17 game against the Minnesota Vikings.
St. Brown, who is questionable, was on the team's injury report this week with a knee issue. He did not take part in practice on Monday but managed to upgrade his participation on Tuesday and Wednesday by practicing on a limited basis.
Ahead of kickoff against the Vikings, there are multiple signs that St. Brown is indeed going to play.
Here's what we know.
Amon-Ra St. Brown injury update
The first positive sign that St. Brown is going to play is the Lions' roster moves. The team did not elevate a wide receiver from the practice squad for the game, something Detroit likely would have done if St. Brown was in danger of not playing.
In addition to that, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that St. Brown is not only expected to play, but he's going to be a full go for the Christmas Day game, which means he's going to play his typical number of snaps.
Final confirmation for St. Brown's status will come an hour and a half before the 4:30 p.m. ET kickoff, when the Lions drop their list of inactives. Keep an eye out for that just to make sure that St. Brown is good to go.
St. Brown's status is huge for the Lions, as Detroit is fighting for its playoff life on Thursday.
The Lions need to win to stay alive in the playoff race, but they also need help from the Green Bay Packers, who must lose to the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday or else the Lions will be knocked out of postseason contention before Week 18.
