The status of Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown for the Week 17 game against the Minnesota Vikings was up in the air at the start of the week.

St. Brown is on the injury report this week with a knee issue and did not take part in practice on Monday.

Adding to that, head coach Dan Campbell didn't provide any certainty about the veteran wideout's status, and the fact the Lions have a short week only added to concerns surrounding St. Brown's ability to suit up.

However, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that St. Brown is expected to play in Week 17 against the Minnesota Vikings.

"My understanding is we should expect Amon-Ra St. Brown to play because, of course, he always plays," Rapoport said.

The first hint that St. Brown would be fine for the game against Minnesota was his upgrade in practice participation on Tuesday.

If you've followed St. Brown's career, him playing despite an injury is not surprising at all.

In fact, we've seen St. Brown's incredible toughness on full display this season, with the four-time Pro Bowler playing against the Dallas Cowboys despite suffering a high-ankle sprain the week prior.

This is massive news for the Lions, who have a crucial matchup against the Vikings this week. The Lions enter the week in the No. 8 spot in the wild-card standings and need a ton of help to make the playoffs.

Not only do the Lions need to run the table, but they also need the Green Bay Packers to lose out.

After facing the Vikings this week, the Lions take on the Chicago Bears in Week 18. Meanwhile, the Packers draw matchups against the Baltimore Ravens and Vikings to close out the campaign.
