Former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator and current Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson isn't likely to receive a warm welcome upon returning to face his old team on Sunday.

Johnson served as Detroit's offensive coordinator for three seasons, and he held two other positions in the two years before that.

But as successful as he was as the Lions' play-caller, the fact that he left for a hated division rival hasn't done him any favors with Lions fans.

Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown agrees with that and fully expects Detroit fans to boo Johnson at Ford Field in Week 2.

"Week 2 is going to be so crazy. I promise you. It is going to be so electric," he said on a recent episode of the St. Brown Podcast. "But as soon as Ben walks in there, we're booing him. I don't give a f---. We all booing him."

Johnson isn't going to be surprised by any means at that welcome.

When asked if he took into account how fans and the Lions would feel about his departure to another NFC North team, Johnson said he did.

“Everything last year ran through my head,” he admitted. “That was one of the unfortunate parts of making that decision, was you were saying goodbye to a lot of friends and a great place. My family, myself, we have a lot of strong relationships in that community. Hopefully, that continues to stay that way as well, but we felt like this was the best opportunity for myself and my family. At times, you have to make tough decisions.”

Things did not go well for Johnson and the Lions in their first games without one another in Week 1.

The Lions' offense couldn't get anything going against the Green Bay Packers, which already has Lions fans upset with Johnson's replacement, John Morton.

The Bears started off hot but then collapsed the rest of the way, opening the door for a Minnesota Vikings comeback victory. Johnson also experienced his first blunder as a head coach with his kickoff decision late in the game.

If you think Lions fans are angry and panicking now, just wait and see what happens if Johnson walks out of Ford Field with a victory in Week 2.
