Sophomore running back RJ Harvey appears to be on track to suit up for a pivotal matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars after practicing on Wednesday and Thursday.
Harvey initially suffered a rib injury late in the fourth quarter during their win over the Green Bay Packers to secure a playoff berth for the team.
Now, after reports on Thursday, it does not seem like the injury will keep Harvey from competing, and that is more than good news for the team because had Harvey not been able to go, they didn't have any other back on the team with more than 19 carries.
On Monday, Denver added Cody Schrader to the running back room to add depth, as the status was unknown at the time.
With a win on Sunday, the Broncos are closer to the number one overall seed in the AFC, as they finally have the outright lead over the New England Patriots after the Patriots lost to the Buffalo Bills, ending their 10-game winning streak.
It should be a must-see matchup, since Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars are currently leading the AFC South, which has been highly competitive this season, with other great teams such as the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts, especially before Daniel Jones's injury.
Aside from pursuing the top seed, Denver is also trying to gain more separation from a division rival, the Los Angeles Chargers, with the two teams' showdown scheduled for the last week of the regular season at Mile High Stadium. Los Angeles won the first match, becoming the second team to defeat the Broncos after the Colts.
