The Denver Broncos won their 11th game in a row and now sit at 12-2 after defeating the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. That is the longest winning streak and the best record in the league.
Still, it's not enough to claim the top spot in the power rankings, at least according to Vinnie Iyer of AllSportsPeople. Iyer moved the Broncos up two spots from No. 4 to No. 2, but he still lists the Los Angeles Rams in the top spot.
"The Broncos keep showing their doubters why they should believe in them, with a dominant defense making huge plays at right times and a confident QB in Bo Nix. Denver is making a case to be trusted in the playoffs under Sean Payton", wrote Iyer.
Broncos Country has to be wondering what this team has to do in order to claim the No. 1 spot in these weekly rankings, but a tough opponent awaits this Sunday as well in the Jacksonville Jaguars. It seems that the Broncos have built a loud group of detractors throughout this season, a group full of non-believers and critics who just don't seem to think this team is as good as its record.
But the Broncos have found a way to get wins this season in tough situations. Say what you will about the quality of their opposition, but good teams find ways to win in one-score games. They have also beaten the Eagles, Cowboys, Texans and Chiefs in addition to the Packers, and all of those should be considered quality wins.
Many fans and NFL analysts consider the Rams to be the best team in the NFL right now and some Broncos fans may even concede that. But if the Broncos can knock off the Jaguars this Sunday, a team that is riding its own five-game winning streak, some consideration must be given to the Broncos being No. 1 in next week's power rankings.

Of course, the Rams face a very good Seattle Seahawks team on Thursday night and beating them would be seen as just as impressive, if not more, so the Broncos would likely stay in the No. 2 spot, even if they win.
