Experience matters.
Maybe there are other traits that quarterbacks can have that are more important, but there's something to be said for simply having played a lot of football. Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix has played a lot of football, especially when you consider his lengthy college career.
That, in large part, is why Nix was able to hit the ground running as a rookie and get the Broncos to the playoffs, and it's why he has improved even just over the course of the last few weeks of his second season, including an upset win of the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5.
Nix went No. 12 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, which some felt was too high, but in the end, it has aged rather well thanks to all that experience he brought with him to the league.

Where did Bo Nix go to college?
Bo Nix split his college football career in two: He started at Auburn and ended at Oregon.
Nix initially went to Auburn out of high school, having played under his dad Patrick in HS before joining the Tigers.
He immediately led an epic comeback win against Oregon to open his college career at Jerry World in Arlington, Texas. Nix was the SEC's 2019 Freshman of the Year, but he didn't quite keep it rolling the next two seasons.
Nix went to Oregon for the 2022 season and threw 29 touchdowns, and the following year, he set the NCAA record for single-season completion percentage at 77.45%.
In his college career between Auburn and Oregon, Nix started 61 games. That's the most in NCAA history for a QB.
He threw 45 touchdowns in that final Ducks season and finished with 113 TD passes as a college player.
Nix completes a lot of passes and avoids negative plays in large part because of his upbringing as the son of a coach that combines with his ample college football experience, and it has worked out well so far for the Broncos.
