The Denver Broncos gutted out a tough victory over their division rival Las Vegas Raiders Thursday night, 10-7.
Denver's defense carried the team to victory, with the Broncos' offense once again struggling throughout the contest. Quarterback Bo Nix has certainly had better nights; he completed 16 of 28 passes for 150 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.
Nix's struggles have been a major talking point amid Denver's 8-2 start, and one former NFL MVP believes he's played so poorly that New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart has surpassed him in the league-wide pecking order.
Esaison: Dart tops Nix
WFAN radio host and former NFL MVP Boomer Esiason said on his show today that he believes Dart is the better quarterback compared to Nix.
"The thing that popped into my mind watching some of this game, especially in the second half, is that it is already evident to me that Jaxson Dart's better than Bo Nix. He is," Esiason said.
"There's no two ways about it. Bo Nix is a fine player. I don't know if he'll ever reach where I think a lot of people thought he could go, and maybe he'll prove me wrong and what I'm saying right here...I think Jaxson Dart has a ton more poise and just throws the ball better...has a better feel for the game."
Esiason spent 14 years in the NFL, a majority with the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Jets. As the NFL MVP in 1988, he certainly knows a thing or two about quarterback play in the pros.
