The Denver Broncos and New York Giants have faced off just 14 times in their histories, but several of those games have had huge meaning.
The all-time series between the teams is tied 7-7. The Giants will be playing their first game in Denver in eight years this Sunday. On their last trip there, in October 2017, the Giants left with a 23-10 upset win. The Broncos were 3-1 and coming off their bye going into that game. The Giants were 0-5.
The Broncos may have overlooked them in that game, much like many feel could happen this Sunday.
But aside from that game, the Broncos and Giants have played in three other games that have some historic meaning.
January 25, 1987: Giants 39, Broncos 20
This was Super Bowl XXI and it was just the fifth-ever meeting between these two teams. They played two months prior to this game with the Giants getting a narrow 19-16 win. This one wasn't as close.
The Broncos actually held a 10-9 lead at halftime, but it was all Giants in the second half as Phil Simms put together one of the best passing performances ever seen in the big game to lead the Giants to their first Super Bowl win.
December 13, 1998: Giants 20, Broncos 16
The Broncos came into this game with a 13-0 record, threatening to join the Miami Dolphins as just the second undefeated team in NFL history. The Broncos held a 16-13 lead late in this until Kent Graham threw a deep ball to Amani Toomer, who beat Broncos defensive back Tito Paul in the back of the end zone to help secure a shocking result.
Kent Graham, who took over for Danny Kanell in 1998 as the Giants starting QB, threw the game-winning 37 yard TD to Amani Toomer to end the Broncos bid for a perfect season.

The Broncos still went on to win their second straight Super Bowl that year.
September 10, 2001: Broncos 31, Giants 20
This was the season opener to the 2001 season, but this will always be remembered as the game that took place just hours before the tragedies that befell the country the following day.
The Broncos hold a 4-2 edge against the Giants at home, but have not beaten them in Denver since Thanksgiving in 2009. Kickoff for this game is set for 2:05 pm Mountain time and the game will be televised on CBS. Kevin Harlan and Trent Green will call all of the action.
