The 12-2 Denver Broncos are sitting atop the entire NFL through 15 Weeks, and while Bo Nix and the offense have been impressive, the main takeaway is how great this defense is.
While Patrick Surtain II and Nick Bonitto draw the most attention nationally, there are plenty of other defenders who are core contributors to the Broncos' defense.
One of those is a beloved veteran linebacker who recently overcame a cancerous tumor last month. Alex Singleton has been a great addition for Denver, and Jeff Legwold of ESPN predicts he's next in line for an extension, albeit a short-term one.
Beloved Broncos LB Alex Singleton predicted to sign extension to stay in Denver
"Though he likely won't get a long-term deal because of his age," Legwold writes, "the Broncos will want him back. As insider linebackers coach Jeff Schmedding said: 'He's at Ph.D. Level.'"
Denver is 32 years old and is in his seventh season in the NFL. After spending the first three seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, he came to Denver and became a big contributor.

While he played just three games in 2024, his return this season has gone great. Singleton has 11 total tackles, with one sack, one forced fumble, and three passes defended.
He might not land a big-money or long-term extension, but the Broncos want him back, and Singleton has carved out a stable role with the Broncos' defense as the middle linebacker with Dre Greenlaw's addition.
Thanks to his age and injury uncertainty, the Broncos likely won't have to break the bank to keep Singleton. Denver is interested in retaining him on a multi-year deal, and Singleton is also likely to have interest in a reunion.
He might hit free agency after this season to test the market, but the Broncos want him back, and the core defender is high on the list of priorities for the Broncos this offseason.
