The Denver Broncos were much better on offense in 2024 than they had been in many years and the vision of what the team could be in the long term is beginning to take shape for Sean Payton.

The major reason for that was the addition of Bo Nix, who had a fabulous rookie season. When you consider that he did that with no major threat in the running game or at tight end and a young, untested wide receiver corps outside of Courtland Sutton, it's nothing short of amazing.

How good can this team be with some upgrades on the offensive side of the ball? That's the big question the team should be looking to answer heading into next season. With running back, wide receiver and tight end all on the board for the team to look at, where should the front office start?

Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report believes that the perfect free-agent signing for the Broncos is veteran wide receiver Chris Godwin. The idea of signing Godwin has come up in talks this offseason and it makes sense for the team.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be looking to re-sign Godwin, who has played his entire career there. He suffered a severe ankle injury last season that knocked him out for the rest of the year, but he has been an important piece of the team's offense for eight seasons.

For his career, Godwin has 579 receptions for 7,266 yards and 39 touchdowns. In Denver, he could be a massive presence in the slot for Nix to get the ball to. Godwin has a knack for getting open in the soft spot of the defense and he would give Nix a reliable target in the passing game. He can also create big plays with the ball in his hands.

However, Godwin is expected to be a costly signing. Spotrac estimates a deal for Godwin to average about $22.5 million per year. The Broncos do have more cap space available than they did a year ago, but the team may want to look at a cheaper signing so they don't stress the cap space too much early on in the process.

As of now, the Broncos currently have about $41.7 million in available cap space.
