Broncos' Nik Bonitto says Myles Garrett not best pass rusher in NFL image

Former Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller isn’t ready to slow down. Earlier Friday, he said he wants to keep playing so he can continue climbing the NFL’s all-time sacks list.

Miller was at one point widely regarded as one of the league’s premier pass rushers. This season, however, much of the attention has gone to Cleveland Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett, who set the NFL single-season sack record.

Still, one current NFL player believes others deserve credit for setting the standard before him.

Broncos linebacker Nik Bonitto responded to a post on X supporting the view that Miller is better than Garrett.

At age 36, Miller tied DeMarcus Ware this season with 138.5 career sacks, ranking ninth all-time in NFL history and standing as the most by any active player. Miller recorded double-digit sacks in seven of his first eight seasons, though he hasn’t reached that mark since 2018. Over his career, he has earned three All-Pro selections and won two Super Bowl titles. He now plays for the Washington Commanders.

Garrett, meanwhile, has totaled 125.5 career sacks at age 30, tying him for 20th all-time. He has posted double-digit sack totals in every season except his rookie year, has been named All-Pro four times, and won Defensive Player of the Year in 2023.

Bonitto and the Broncos have secured the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC and will await the outcome of this weekend’s wild-card games to determine their opponent, facing the lowest remaining seed.
