The Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs are rekindling their division rivalry on Christmas night at Arrowhead Stadium.
It has been a wild year for the Chiefs, to say the least. For the first time in over 10 years, they will not make the postseason, meaning they won't win the AFC West after holding the crown for nine straight seasons.
Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes tore his ACL and is scheduled to miss about 9 months, and on Monday, it was also announced that the team will move to a new stadium in Kansas.

With all that going on, it has left the door wide open for teams like their opponent, the Denver Broncos, who are currently in the lead for the top seed in the AFC playoffs and control their own destiny to secure it by winning their final two games, and based on the latest injury news from the Chiefs, it could make the win for the Broncos more likely.
On Wednesday, the Chiefs placed wide receivers Rashee Rice, Tyquan Thornton, and defensive backs Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson on the season-ending injured reserve list, meaning the team is done with their best receiver and two of their best corners.
Now, with all the losses for the Chiefs, it seems as if the Broncos are nearly guaranteed to win the matchup with the lack of personnel Kansas City has, as it almost seems like an early Christmas present for Denver, as they need a win to set up the potential winner take all matchup for the AFC West title which may also come with the first overall seed in the postseason.
