The Denver Broncos and New York Giants' matchup this past Sunday had some emotional charge, thanks to players from both teams exchanging barbs on social media and in the press leading up to the game.

Broncos defender Jonathon Cooper had some words on Jaxson Dart that caught the ire of Giants rookie Abdul Carter.

"He’s a young guy. He’s feelin’ himself a little bit. He’s out there running around. He’s got the chain on. He’s dancing. I feel like everybody needs something, you know," Cooper said in the days leading up to the win.

Nik Bonitto praises Jaxson Dart after Broncos win

The Broncos' defense is one of the top units in all of football right now, but Dart was still able to lead New York's offense to 32 points on Sunday.

The Ole Miss product completed 15 of 33 pass attempts for 283 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Dart also ran for a touchdown late in the game.

Broncos edge rusher Nik Bonitto praised Dart on Up & Adams this week, a stark turnaround from how Denver's defense felt about the rookie quarterback seven days ago.

"I have to give him credit. He's a lot better than what we thought. His feel for the game and ability to maneuver in the pocket and make plays on the run," Bonitto told Kay Adams.

"I was really impressed...as the year goes on, he gonna be a really good player, man he's definitely gonna be something we have to watch out for in the league."

Despite the Giants coming up short in the social media-fueled grudge match, Dart clearly earned the respect of the Broncos' defense.
