One of the NFL's oldest players has been made available before Week 15 gets underway.
The Denver Broncos have waived tight end Marcedes Lewis, the long-ago first-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Lewis, 41, signed with the Broncos earlier this season. He appeared in four games, strictly as a blocker, not being targeted a single time.
This could be the end of his NFL career, unless he latches on with a different team for the stretch run.

Lewis played the first 12 seasons of his NFL career with the Jaguars, catching 375 passes for 4,052 yards and 33 touchdowns.
He then went to Green Bay for five seasons, catching a total of six touchdowns.
In two ensuing seasons with the Chicago Bears, Lewis had five catches across 34 games, having fully evolved to a blocker extraordinaire.

That led to this quick stint with the Broncos.
If Lewis retires, he does it as a one-time Pro Bowler who played 20 years in the NFL.
It's been quite the run, and quite the career evolution, for a guy who remained reliable until the end.
