The Dallas Cowboys surely would've loved to have Ashton Jeanty.

Instead, they'll have to figure out how to contain him on Monday Night Football in Week 11 when they take on the Las Vegas Raiders and their talented rookie running back.

In the lead up to the 2025 NFL Draft, ESPN's Adam Schefter wrote that Jeanty would be a "perfect fit" for the Cowboys.

In the end, that didn't work out.

Where is Ashton Jeanty from?

Jeanty was born in Jacksonville, Florida.

He began high school in Italy before moving to Frisco, Texas for the end of high school. From there, it was on to Boise State, where he became Heisman runner-up.

Why didn't the Cowboys get 'perfect fit' Ashton Jeanty?

In the end, the Cowboys didn't have a high enough draft pick, and they didn't make a move to trade up.

The Raiders got Jeanty with the No. 6 overall pick.

Dallas wasn't drafting until the 12th pick.

The Cowboys have done fine in their running game this season, with Javonte Williams, and have late-round rookie Jaydon Blue starting to show promise at the RB spot.

Jeanty will remain a "What if?" For Dallas and no more than that.
