Where is George Pickens? Cowboys' WR serving as decoy to help CeeDee Lamb after Steelers trade image

The Dallas Cowboys traded for George Pickens this offseason to add a true WR2 alongside CeeDee Lamb.

It appears they didn't need that guy to actually catch a couple passes. They just needed the threat on the other side.

Pickens wasn't thrown to often against the Philadelphia Eagles in the season opener. A couple times, Dak Prescott looked for him down the field, and he drew a flag on one of the plays.

More often, Pickens was a decoy.

Where is George Pickens?

George Pickens was out there for almost every play for the Cowboys' offense.

He just didn't get thrown to very much.

Instead, he often ran deeper routes that allowed the superstar Lamb to be open underneath the defense.

It's a good strategy. It just remains to be seen if Pickens will get his own good numbers in this scheme.
