Another week, another absence for Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs.

Diggs hasn't suited up since Week 6 and was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 25 due to a concussion and lingering knee issues. The concussion was suffered at his home, although the details of that accident remain unclear.

Diggs was eligible to return from injured reserve last week, but he did not return. However, he was designated to return to practice this week and was able to log three limited sessions before being ruled out.

That means he's close, but how close, exactly?

Here's what we know.

When is Trevon Diggs coming back?

Estimated return timeline: Week 15 or 16

Given the fact that Diggs was practicing on a limited basis this week, there's a good chance he'll return in Week 15, although it wouldn't be shocking if he's given yet another week and returns in Week 16.

The Cowboys designated Diggs to return from injured reserve on Nov. 30, and they have 21 days to activate him or else he'll have to miss the rest of the season.

That gives Dallas until Dec. 21 to make a decision. That is also the same date that the Cowboys take on the Los Angeles Chargers, so we'd expect Diggs to make it back no later than that game.

The stretch run of the campaign is going to be crucial for Diggs, who is among the team's top cut candidates in 2026. Cutting Diggs would incur a dead-cap hit of $5 million and a cap savings of $12.5 million.

Diggs simply hasn't lived up to his five-year, $97 million contract extension, both because of injury and ineffectiveness when on the field.

He'll have to play at a superstar level in order to have even a chance for the Cowboys to keep him, and even then that might not be enough.

However, he'll still be auditioning for teams as he prepares to hit the free-agent market in search of a new home.
