The clock is ticking on the Dallas Cowboys' time to activate cornerback Trevon Diggs off injured reserve.
Diggs has been on the shelf since, when he suffered a concussion in an at-home accident. We still don't know the details of that accident, as Diggs has not told reporters how he got injured. Diggs has also been dealing with a knee issue.
The Cowboys have until the end of this week to make a decision on Diggs. If he isn't activated off the list, Diggs will have to miss the rest of the season and it's quite possible that will also mean he has played his last game in Dallas.
Diggs himself was shocked at the decision to not activate him off injured reserve last week. The veteran cornerback said during the week that he expected to play before ultimately finding out he wouldn't.
Diggs has since expressed frustration with that decision, according to ESPN's Todd Archer. He simply doesn't understand why he wasn't activated.
"I was upset," Diggs admitted.
"From the first conversation that we had, it was practice. I guess I wasn't showing them what they wanted to see in practice," Diggs said. "This week, I showed them what they wanted to see in practice and it's still the same result. I don't know what else I need to do or what to show."
"At this point I feel like it's not even, it's not up to me or what I do. It's really up to them, and what they want to do. I'm just showing up every day. I'm going to go to work," Diggs added.
When asked why Diggs wasn't activated in Week 15, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones simply stated that he wasn't healthy enough to go.
"Diggs isn't healthy enough to be out there for us. Period," Jones said.
That is clearly at odds with how Diggs views himself and we now have a bit of a mystery going on here.
Whatever the case may be, this only adds to the idea that Diggs won't be back in 2026.
