While the whole football world is reeling from the Micah Parsons trade and laying into Cowboys owner Jerry Jones for making that trade, one person thinks it was the right thing to do: ESPN college football and NFL commentator Kirk Herbstreit.

Herbstreit seemingly took Jones and the Cowboys' side in this trade. Herbstreit said this on “Get Up” Friday morning.

“I look at this in a different way. I look at it as a new coach, trying to build a new culture, your alpha, your best player, is sitting out in a negotiation that’s not working out. Not only that, but some of the optics of it with some of the things he did during camp, it just wasn’t good.”

Herbie thinks it was a good idea for both sides to move on.

“I think at this point it was probably best that they give him his opportunity to go to another franchise, and then Dallas can start over as far as inside the building and try to build this thing defensively from the ground up,” he said.

He also hinted there may have been issues inside the locker room with Parsons for the Cowboys to make this trade.

“But what does he do behind the scenes to the culture of who the Dallas Cowboys are,” he said. For Dallas not willing to sign him, it must have been significant to say, let’s get rid of this guy.”  I know it sounds crazy, but I applaud Dallas for letting him go. And trying to build a culture of team instead of an individual.”

Herbstreit might be by himself when it comes to his thoughts on the Parsons trade, but the rest of the NFL world has ripped them for it.
