There is no doubt the Dallas Cowboys are in a confident mood after beating both of last year's Super Bowl combatants in consecutive weeks.

Now riding into Detroit to face the Lions, many are on the Cowboys bandwagon, with Brian Schottenheimer's team garnering fear from the rest of the league.

But we know how fickle the NFL can be, and you are only as good as your last game, and you could easily see Dallas get curb-stomped by the Lions, such is the brutal nature of the league.

As for defensive tackle Kenny Clark, while there is positive momentum, he knows his team must put all that behind them.

"It's a lot of good momentum, but it don't mean nothing if we don't go out and handle business," Clark said. "Just got to wash all that away with what we did. It's a week-to-week league and proving ourselves week-to-week and get ourselves out that hole."

Cowboys not out of "hole" yet

At 6-5-1, the Cowboys' season is still teetering on the edge.

Given the state of the NFC, it feels like the Cowboys' best avenue for Schottenheimer's team to make the playoffs is through the division, given Dallas is just 1.5 games behind the Philadelphia Eagles.

So, while there is momentum building for the Cowboys, as Clark states, that means nothing ahead of Thursday night, because a loss would be devastating for Dallas, and equally so for Detroit.

Playoff football has arrived early for both the Cowboys and the Lions, and you can bet that Clark will be looking to plant his NFC flag in the ground at Ford Field and continue this unlikely march towards postseason football.
