The Dallas Cowboys need everything to go right the rest of the season to have any chance of making the playoffs.
They aren't holding anything back.
On their first drive Sunday night against the Minnesota Vikings, the Cowboys were set to kick a 47-yard field goal with superstar kicker Brandon Aubrey.
Instead, they ran a fake.
The holder pitched the ball over his head to a sweeping Aubrey, who ran the necessary three yards and then slid with the first down.
It worked because the Cowboys had recognized that they could allow the Vikings' outermost rusher from that side to get in freely. He'd go to block the kick, and Aubrey would have the edge.
This fake FG was fun. What can Brandon Aubrey not do?Pic.twitter.com/7O28jH8JTp

Aubrey has a case as the best kicker in the NFL. Apparently, he can do more, too.
He's a great athlete. He was a first-round MLS Draft pick as a central defender, although he never made it into the first team for Toronto FC.
He turned into a kicker, and one of the best.
The 47-yarder was set to be a chip shot for a guy like Aubrey. But instead, Dallas called for the trick, and it worked to perfection.
