There haven't been a lot of positives in the world of the Dallas Cowboys lately, but we did get some good news on Wednesday morning.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs is expected to play against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday in Week 1.
Diggs has been recovering from a December knee surgery and spent training camp and the preseason on the active/physically unable to perform list.
However, he was activated off the list just a few days before cutdown day. Had he stayed on the list through cutdown day, Diggs would've had to miss the first four games of the 2025 season.
On the team's injury report, Diggs put in a pair of full practices this week, which was the first sign he'd be good to go.
Diggs has been plagued by injury the past two years. He suffered a torn ACL in 2023, limiting him to just two games. Then, he saw his 2024 campaign cut short due to injury once again.
This is a hugely important season for Diggs, who is in the midst of a $97 million deal. If he doesn't perform and/or fails to stay healthy again, it's very conceivable Dallas will cut him in 2026, especially after giving DaRon Bland a new deal.
