The Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals have reportedly agreed to a trade.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Bengals are trading linebacker Logan Wilson to the Cowboys in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick.

"Trade: The Bengals are dealing standout LB Logan Wilson to the Cowboys, sources say, providing immediate defensive help," Rapoport reported.

Wilson has been the subject of trade rumors recently after he asked the Bengals to move him. His request came following the team benching him in favor of rookie Barrett Carter.

"He's handled it really well," Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said of Wilson. "He's done a great job with the young linebackers. He's continued to be in a leadership role in our team. I know that this situation, it can be difficult and challenging."

Prior to that happening, Wilson was a starter and key member of the Bengals' defense since 2021.

He has tallied over 100 tackles four times, including a career-high 135 in 2023. Wilson also has 11 interceptions since 2020, the most among all linebackers.

But Wilson has struggled this season, which is why he was benched. The veteran sports an elite 87.2 pass-rush grade, but his run defense and coverage grades are 58.1 and 48.8, respectively, which rank 56th and 55th among linebackers.

Wilson has been a solid tackler during his career, but his coverage and run defense skills are typically average, at best.

One good thing about Wilson, assuming he pans out, is that he's under contract through the 2027 campaign, so he could be a multi-year solution for Dallas. That said, if he doesn't pan out, there's an out in his contract in 2026.

Wilson now joins a linebackers room in Dallas that desperately needed more help after the Micah Parsons trade. The Cowboys will hope to pair Wilson with fellow linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, who is close to returning from injury.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on Monday that the team had already made a trade and would announce it on Tuesday, so it looks like this was the one.

However, Jones also hinted more could come after that, so don't be surprised to see Dallas' name pop up again before the 4 p.m. ET deadline.
