Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has now shared his side of the story after he was spat on by Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Jalen Carter during the Week 1 game on Thursday night.

Carter was ejected before the first offensive play of the contest after he was clearly seen spitting on Prescott. It was later revealed that Prescott had spit first, but he was aiming at the ground and not at Carter and the Eagles.

Following the game, NBC analyst and former Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett spoke to Prescott, who told his side of the story.

"Jason Garrett just explained Dak Prescott’s side of Spitgate … Dak told him that he was talking to Tyler Booker, had to spit," Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer wrote on X. "When he did, Jalen Carter was close by. Carter said 'you spit at me?' Prescott smiled and said, 'why would I spit at you?' And Carter spit back."

That falls in line with a report from Nick Harris of the Forth Worth Star-Telegram that revealed that Carter thought Prescott was purposely spitting at the Eagles' defensive huddle.

Here's the details on that report, along with the video of Prescott spitting.

You can clearly see Prescott looking down at the ground when he was spitting, so it doesn't look like he was trying to spit at the Eagles' defenders.

Nevertheless, Carter thought otherwise, which led to his inexcusable action.

Now we'll have to see if Carter will get suspended by the NFL. We do know that he's going to face a fine for his ejection.
