When the Dallas Cowboys traded for receiver George Pickens, the thought of what he could do in the offense with CeeDee Lamb was tantalizing.

And in the 33-16 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, once again, we saw what a dynamic duo they can be for Dak Prescott.

Lamb posted 66 yards and a touchdown, while Pickens had 144 yards and a touchdown as they were the chief destroyers of a poor Raiders defense that had no answer to what Brian Schottenheimer was cooking up.

And for Dak, he knows how special the duo is when they are in full flight.

“Getting those guys the ball, watching them run after catch, being who they are,” Prescott said. “Two elite guys that complement each other, that build off of each other's energy, one go makes a play, the other one wants to make a play, was fun. I'm just trying to get the ball out of my hands to these guys, be like a point guard and let them go, do what they do best.”

Cowboys' playoff hopes still alive

Yes, they are alive, but if we are being truthful, not many actually expect Dallas to make the playoffs at 4-5-1.

With the Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, and Detroit Lions next on their schedule, it will be here that Dallas' season is decided.

At worst, 2-1 is needed in that three-game stretch, and that feels tough, but after what we saw against the Raiders (yes, I know it's the Raiders), there is some hope that maybe this Cowboys team can give a good account of themselves in the second half of the season.

Yes, it is a long way off, but playoffs are still on the agenda in 2025, despite Dallas needing to be nearly perfect from here on out to make it happen.
