The Dallas Cowboys travel to face the Denver Broncos this weekend, and with a 3-3-1 record, getting a proper read on Brian Schottenheimer's team isn't easy.
Dallas' offense is so good that it can light up any defense. Conversely, Matt Eberflus' defense, for the most part, has allowed opposing offenses to score at will. Both will be put to the test against a Denver team that is one of the NFL's best defenses and can have its moments offensively.
With a prolific offense that features CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, along with the small defensive improvement, what have the Cowboys proved in the first weeks?
Dak Prescott gave a rather interesting answer.
“That we can play, we're going to be tough, you better be ready to come in and fight on all phases,” Prescott said. “We're going to give you everything that we've got. Resilient group. More importantly, a group that trusts each other, that has each other's back and we're going to do whatever it takes.”

Can Cowboys get after Denver's defense?
Given Schottenheimer's abundance of weapons, getting Lamb, Pickens, Javonte Williams, Jake Ferguson, KaVontae Turpin and others involved means the Broncos' defense will have a lot of weapons to cover.
But that is where Denver's pass rush, which has an incredible league-leading 34 sacks on the year, comes into view. Dak will be under pressure consistently, so it will be up to the offensive line to give Prescott time to get the ball to his weapons.
The run game will also be key in slowing down Denver's pass rush, and in a homecoming of sorts for Javonte, he'll want to put on a show.
It is shaping up to be a crucial battle between a high-octane offense and a stout defense.
