Cowboys' Week 18 plans for Dak Prescott vs. Joe Milton revealed by ESPN's Todd Archer image

The Dallas Cowboys could take pretty much any approach they want to Week 18.

There's no playoff hope to play for when they take on the New York Giants on Sunday.

So if they want to go all out, they can. If they want to pack it in, they can.

That will be most notable at the quarterback position.

Dak Prescott is expected to start and play extensively. He's also got a chance to lead the NFL in passing yardage.

But the Cowboys may also want to see backup QB Joe Milton out on the field.

So what are they going to do?

"Dak Prescott will start Sunday at the New York Giants," ESPN's Todd Archer posted on X. "He’s not sure if he will play the whole game although the expectation is Joe Milton will get some action. Prescott said the prep does not change."

Prescott spoke more on this, too, via Archer:

"For me going out there and planning to play the whole game, just stick to the way that I play the game. I'm not going to try to do too much early and make some big plays so I can get out of the game. And if he said two touchdowns, or three touchdowns, or this score you're coming out, that may put a little bit of pressure on me trying to do that, but me not knowing when it is and if it is, just going to play my game and be smart."

The overwhelming vibe here is that there's a probable plan in the building for Milton to get playing time.

How much? That remains to be seen.

But it seems the Cowboys will be using two QBs in Week 18.
