The Dallas Cowboys' 2025 season hasn't been what first-time head coach Brian Schottenheimer would have wanted.
Sitting at 6-7-1 with three games left and having their playoff chances all but extinguished with the loss to the Minnesota Vikings, it is another failed season for Dallas, something we're becoming accustomed to.
The Vikings' loss was bad, mainly due to how Dallas lost, considering the season was on the line, and on both sides of the ball, things didn't click.
For Eric Edholm, the Cowboys are at No. 19 in his latest power rankings, which sums up their season perfectly—middle of the pack, and struggling to keep its head above water.
“The Cowboys haven't officially been eliminated from postseason play, but practically speaking, Sunday night's home loss to Minnesota essentially marked the end of all realistic hope,” Edholm writes. “Brian Schottenheimer's first season brought some fight after the bye, but the Cowboys now find themselves in a real battle just to finish.500 or better.”

Where to now for Cowboys?
Not officially out of the playoff race, with the Cowboys needing to win out and have the Philadelphia Eagles lose all of their remaining games, but for all intents and purposes, Dallas is out.
But if fans thought that we would see some starters sit so younger players could get some much-needed snaps, you're wrong.
Schottenheimer stated that he wants to win, and that will be the plan for these final three games. Try to build as much positive momentum as possible to take into the offseason.
2025 hasn't been good for the Cowboys, and once again, the franchise will enter the offseason with ample salary cap room. Not to mention two first-round picks.
Let's see what they do with it.
