The Dallas Cowboys have taken a step toward getting one of their injured wide receivers back as the team continues to wait for the return of CeeDee Lamb.
The Cowboys announced on Wednesday that they have opened the practice window of wide receiver Jonathan Mingo, who began the season on injured reserve due to a sprained PCL in his knee.
Mingo now has 21 days to be activated to the 53-man roster or else he will be forced to sit out the rest of the 2025 campaign.
There has been no indication he will be ready to play this week, but it remains a possibility.
While Mingo's first eight games with the Cowboys in 2024 were nothing to write home about, the Cowboys desperately need more options at the position.
George Pickens stepped up big time in Week 4, but he is going to be drawing a ton of attention while Lamb is out and needs someone to take the pressure off.
Jalen Tolbert did a good job of that against the Green Bay Packers, but depending on him every week is a risky proposition.
As for Lamb, his high-ankle sprain is expected to keep him out three to four weeks. He has already missed one game, so he could be out two to three more.
