Jerry Jones, the cost to retain George Pickens past 2025 is escalating with each passing week, following his performance in the Dallas Cowboys' 31-28 victory against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Pickens accumulated 88 receiving yards on six catches, a performance that was actually a "down" for George considering his prior weeks. He began sluggishly, securing only two passes for 22 yards before halftime while CeeDee Lamb dominated, but George found his stride late in the fourth quarter.
With a third-and-eight situation at midfield, Dak Prescott connected with Pickens on a slant pass, who then outmaneuvered his defender and sprinted downfield. However, his impressive play wasn't over. George proceeded to leap over a Chiefs defender, advancing the ball 39 yards.
And head coach Brian Schottenheimer lauded his receiver's game, even if he did fumble late.
“He's just really good,” Schottenheimer said. “It's hard to put up the game numbers he's been putting up every week, but you can see the big play there at the end. How about kudos to KaVontae Turpin, man, hustling over the ball. That was a huge play because obviously, we needed the field goal. GP, what he's done over the last couple weeks as a player is amazing.”

Pickens: Cowboys' bargain find
George might just be the signing of the season.
With his season stats now up to 1,142 yards and eight touchdowns from 73 receptions, Pickens has now hit career-highs in every category this season.
And he's only 12 games into the season.
Dallas acquired a player of that caliber, and his connection with Prescott will continue to improve, as No. 4 sought out George for the 13-yard third-down conversion that ultimately sealed the game.
Since arriving in Dallas, Pickens has performed exceptionally well, contributing significantly both on and off the field as the Cowboys advance toward the playoffs, a success he'll heavily influence in the remaining games.
