TL;DR

  • CeeDee Lamb caught only four of eleven targets against the Philadelphia Eagles.
  • Lamb expressed disappointment in his inconsistent performance, acknowledging routine drops.
  • The Dallas Cowboys need CeeDee Lamb to resolve his fumbling issues for the Chiefs game.
  • Lamb must catch more footballs for the Cowboys to win their crucial game against the Chiefs.

While the Dallas Cowboys may have narrowly defeated the Philadelphia Eagles, a more decisive victory could have been achieved if All-Pro receiver CeeDee Lamb had secured a greater number of his targets.

Lamb would catch just four of his 11 targets on Sunday as his drop issue against Philadelphia once again reared its ugly head. And they weren't tough catches by his standards; they were routine ones, and he knows they should have been caught.

As the Kansas City Chiefs approach for Dallas, Lamb discussed his emotions regarding his inconsistent play versus the Eagles.

"Disappointed in myself for the most part, obviously because they called my number more, and at the end of the day, that's all I can ask for," Lamb said. "Once I see the ball come my way is nobody's harm but mine to catch the ball. I'm a firm believer in that, and I know me, I know the player I am, I'll be all right."

The Cowboys require CeeDee Lamb to resolve his fumbling problem.

Consistent practice is key, and naturally, the most direct method involves snagging the ball during actual gameplay.

It's a safe bet that Dallas will focus heavily on CeeDee in their initial game plan against the Chiefs, aiming to restore his confidence to his usual All-Pro level.

The Chiefs face a dilemma: they can't exclusively focus on doubling Lamb to increase his difficulty, as George Pickens is performing at his peak on the other side, which will undoubtedly benefit CeeDee as well.

Dallas confronts a crucial game where a loss isn't an option, and Lamb must avoid the fumbles he experienced versus the Eagles. This is critical because, despite their standing, the Chiefs remain a formidable opponent, demanding nearly flawless play to secure a victory.

If the Cowboys are to win their third game of the season, Lamb will have to catch a lot of footballs.
