The Dallas Cowboys pulled off one of the all-time great comebacks in a 24-21 win over the Philadelphia Eagles at AT&T Stadium to move to 5-5-1 on the year.

But head coach Brian Schottenheimer has come under fire for two fourth-down calls that many are questioning.

On Dallas' first drive of the game, Schottenheimer went for it on fourth-and-three at the 50-yard line and then set the Eagles up in great field position. Then in the fourth quarter, the Cowboys had the ball at the Eagles' one-yard line facing a fourth-and-one.

Dallas was stopped with a chance to kick the go-ahead field goal, but came up short.

Those two plays are big talking points, but Schottenheimer, in speaking post-game, is at peace with those decisions.

“It's part of sitting in this chair, you make decisions in 10, 15, 20 seconds,” Schottenheimer said. “You don't have five minutes to talk about it, when you sign up to sit in this chair and be the play caller, you have to make those calls, and again, did the defense bail me out? Yeah. Sometimes that's a good thing for a coach.

"But I'm comfortable. I'd do it again, I thought we had some momentum and I wanted to capitalize on it.”

Cowboys keep season alive with Eagles win

There was no other way around it, the Cowboys had to win this game to save their season, and yes, it might delay the inevitable with the Kansas City Chiefs, then Detroit Lions up next for Dallas, but right now, there's belief.

At 5-5-1, and fresh off beating the brakes off the now 8-3 Eagles in the second half, the Cowboys will be in a confident mood heading into their Thanksgiving game against the Chiefs.

And that will likely be one where a few fourth-down decisions have to be made again from Schottenheimer, and it is clear he isn't gun-shy about making those calls.

If you get them, you're a genius. But fail, and questions get asked.

And Schottenheimer is just fine with that.
