Cowboys' Brandon Aubrey reveals secret to success involving Chris Stapleton image

Brandon Aubrey is a special football player but when he's off the field he's just a regular guy.

Case in point, Aubrey was asked this week what his signature song would be if he could walk out to kick to music. He responded with "White Horse" by country music superstar Chris Stapleton.

In fact, the 11-time Grammy Award-winning artist dominates Aubrey's pregame playlist while he calms his nerves and sets the tone for upcoming games.

"I just love Stapleton," Aubrey said. "I pretty much all day on game day listen to Chris Stapleton because he keeps me calm. Don't get too much energy burned before kickoff.

It's a method that's clearly been working for the All-Pro kicker. He's made 27 kicks from 50 yards or longer in his career. That includes his 64-yard boot to send Sunday's game against the Giants to overtime. One more and he'll tie the Cowboys' franchise record for 50+ yard kicks.

Whatever Aubrey is doing, Dallas wants him to keep doing it. He's in the final year of a $2.69 million contract and is due for a big raise from Jerry Jones and the front office.

So for now he'll keep listening to his favorite tunes, booting long kicks, and being one of the most popular athletes in Dallas.
