It was only the first quarter, and the Browns were inside the 10-yard line, but Shedeur Sanders was jogging to the sideline.
The rest of Cleveland's offense was still on the field. Sanders was coming out, though.
It wasn't an injury or a benching, though.
Why did Browns pull Shedeur Sanders?
Cleveland just took Sanders out for a play for gameplan purposes.
They were going with the Wildcat formation, where a running back takes the snap instead.
Some teams run that play with the QB still out wide in a receiver position. But the Browns did it with Sanders subbed out.
On the play, Quinshon Judkins ran into the end zone for a touchdown.
Sanders didn't get a chance, on this drive, to try and score a TD.
He had completed 2-of-2 passes up to this point for eight yards.
The Judkins TD was set up by a long punt return and a penalty on the Raiders.
The Browns will take the points, and Sanders will still get plenty more chance to make things happen in his first NFL start.
