Shedeur Sanders was trying to get out of trouble.
In the end, the Cleveland Browns' rookie QB found his way into it against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 13.
He slid to avoid a hit but got his legs caught under him and may have taken a shot to the head, too.
Sanders had to come out of the game.
Dillon Gabriel came in.
Why did the Browns pull Shedeur Sanders for Dillon Gabriel for a play?
Sanders had to come out of the game with an injury.
The good news for Cleveland is that Sanders missed just one play.
The bad news is that the drive ended in a fourth-and-16 on which Sanders took a huge shot for a sack to end any chances of a comeback.
The Browns didn't look as good on offense this week. They weren't playing the hapless Raiders, and the superior 49ers showed Cleveland what an all-around good football team looks like.
