One sack. That's all Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl pass-rusher Myles Garrett needs to break the single season NFL sack record. Michael Strahan (in 16-games) and T.J. Watt (in 17) currently hold that honor, which sits at 22.5.

He can hit that magic No. 23 on Sunday at home when facing rival Pittsburgh.

If Garrett does accomplish that historic goal this weekend, it would be against Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers or backup Mason Rudolph. He commented on this during media availability at the team's headquarters in Berea, OH:

If Baltimore loses to the Chargers on Saturday then Pittsburgh clinches the AFC North. That could mean that both Rodgers and Rudolph see action in Cleveland.

Remember that Garrett has a controversial history with Rudolph. Back on Nov. 14th, 2019, he whacked Rudolph over the head with his own helmet after an alleged slur was uttered. The future hall of famer was suspended for those actions.

Garrett didn't stir the pot in his answers to reporters when it came to the incident. Although the favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year initially downplayed which quarterback he'd like to break the sack record against, some clarity did emerge:

"[Rodgers is] legendary himself, and it's a legendary record I'm here chasing," Garrett said Friday. "That'd be a great one to put a picture on the wall with."

For what it's worth, Garrett has not been able to take down Rodgers in two head-to-head meetings. However, he has collected five total sacks in the last two home showdowns versus the Steelers.
